The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Waterloo resident following the investigation into a Welfare Fraud. On October 29, 2019 Investigators arrested Michael E Bennett, age 54 of Hecker Rd Waterloo. It is alleged that between the dates of October 2018 and August 2019 Bennett failed to report income while receiving public assistance. As a result, Bennett was charged with Welfare Fraud 3rd, a class D Felony, and two counts of Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st, a Class E Felony. Bennett was arraigned at Seneca County CAP Court where he was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility. He is to reappear at the Village of Waterloo Court at a later date.
