Welfare Fraud Arrest

On October 5, 2021, at about 12:33pm, Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Christopher M. Cooper, age 38, no permanent address, on charges of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree and Welfare Fraud in the Fifth Degree. The charges stem from Cooper allegedly filing false information with Seneca County in an effort to obtain financial assistance. Cooper is to appear in the Waterloo Village Court on October 20, 2021 at 5pm. Cooper was placed in custody by Sheriff’s Deputies in the Village of Waterloo and later turned over to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding warrant.
