Welfare Fraud Arrest

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports, on April 13th 2021, investigators arrested Robert J. Law Jr., age 38, of Waterloo, NY. Law was charged with Welfare Fraud in the fourth degree and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the first degree. It is alleged that Law received public assistance benefits from Seneca County that he was not entitled to due to unreported income. During the arrest, it was discovered that Law had an active warrant for his arrest out of Wayne County stemming from failing to appear in Family Court. Law was released on an appearance ticket and turned over to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. He is scheduled to appear at the Village of Waterloo Court at a later date.
