Vehicle Fire Town of Junius

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that on Monday, April 22nd, 2024 at around 4:00 pm Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Finger Lakes Premium Outlets in the Town of Junius New York for the reported Vehicle Fire. Upon arrival, Deputies observed a completely burned SUV that had just been extinguished by Junius Fire Department. The vehicle was a total loss and estimated $40,000 in damages. The vehicle was fully insured. Deputies spoke with the driver of the vehicle Christina Cummings and passenger, Ashley Russell, who stated that the fire started due to a major oil leak in the engine compartment. Both parties were able to safely remove themselves from the area and call 911. The owner of the vehicle is Elizabeth Montgomery.
