Theft in the Town of Junius

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that on Saturday May 23rd, 2024 at around 7:30pm Deputies responded to a business in the town of Junius for the reported theft in progress. Upon arrival, Deputies were able to detain the suspects involved and retrieve the stolen merchandise.

At around 8:08pm, Deputies arrested Nakaysha I. Huggins, age 25 and Lychanelle D. Coleman, age 28, both of Syracuse, NY on charges stemming from the theft in progress. Huggins was charged with Criminal possession of Stolen Property 4th, a Class E Felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd, an Unclassified Misdemeanor and several other New York State Vehicle and Traffic Violations. Coleman was charged with Criminal possession of Stolen Property 4th, a Class E Felony and Possession of Burglar’s Tools, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Huggins and Coleman were transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for arrest processing. Both Huggins and Coleman were released on appearance tickets and are due to appear in the Junius Town Court on June 18th at 6:00pm.
