Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two-car personal injury accident that occurred at the intersection of State Route 96 and Whiskey Hill Rd in the Town of Waterloo around 10:00 am on 4/26/2025. According to witness statements, a 2018 Subaru SUV stopped at the stop sign on Brewer Rd and Sr 96, proceeded through the intersection without yielding to a 2015 Ford 150 that was traveling east bound on Sr 96 and caused a collision. The operator of the 2015 Ford 150 was treated on scene for minor injuries. Both occupants of the Subaru had to be extracted due to have damage and the vehicle turned on its side. Waterloo fire department responded to the scene. North Seneca Ambulance and Finger lakes Ambulance treated both occupants inside the Subaru SUV and subsequently transported them to Geneva General for further evaluation. James Hughes of Waterloo NY was identified as the operator of the Subaru and was issued a traffic citation for Failing to Yield the right of Way at an Intersection.
