The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on June 15, 2020 at approximately 3:06 PM they were called to St Rt 96A in the area of the Rt 96 / 96A “four corners” in Ovid for a report of a property damage accident. Upon arrival it was found that a tractor trailer had left the scene after the trailer pulled wires causing a utility pole to break in two spots. This also caused low hanging wires across Main St and St Rt 96. Sheriff’s Deputies located the tractor trailer and the driver, Glenn Stevens age 64 of 2571 Colesville Rd Harpursville, NY, was issued a ticket of leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Deputies report that there were no injuries from the accident, but roads were closed for several hours while utility companies repaired the damage. Ovid, Interlaken, Lodi and Romulus fire Department assisted on the scene as well as the New York State Department of Transportation and the New York State Police.
