One car PIMVA / Felony DWI Town of Ovid

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on May 11, 2021, at about 8:30 AM , Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single car accident on County Road 131 in the Town of Ovid. Deputies report Frederick M. Mulford, 49, of 8933 State Route 414 in the Town of Lodi, was operating his Ford Ranger pickup truck northbound on County Road 131 near the intersection of West Wycoff Road , when he suddenly left the roadway, drove into a ditch ,  and continued on striking a culvert and overturning. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene. Mulford was treated at the scene and transported by South Seneca Ambulance to the Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, where he was treated for contusions and abrasions, and released. Upon further investigation, Deputies charged Mulford with operating a motor vehicle while using a mobile phone, crossing pavement markings , unlicensed operator and DWI felony ( due to previous conviction ). Mulford was processed at the Seneca County Jail, and released on appearance tickets to appear at the Ovid Town Court on May 18, 2021 to answer the charges. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Ovid , Lodi and Interlaken Fire Departments.
