The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 08/20/2020 at around 4:00 am, Deputies responded to 326 Border City Rd for the report of a vehicle that struck a house. Deputies say that Alexender B Capalongo, age 26, of 1782 Chase Road Waterloo, NY, was traveling westbound on Border City Rd when he fell asleep and lost control of his vehicle. Capalongo’s vehicle left the roadway where it traveled through multiple front lawns and struck a house where it came to final rest. Upon further investigation, Deputies determined that Capalongo was Under the Influence of a Drug. He was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by a Drug, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and other traffic violations. Capalongo is scheduled to appear at Waterloo Town Court on 9/23/2020 at 5:00 pm to answer charges. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene. The house sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported by the homeowners John and Joanne Benedicks.
