The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on April 1, 2022 at around 4:00 p.m., Deputies responded to the area of State Route 318 and Black Brook Road for a two car Personal Injury Accident. Involved in the accident were a Gray Nissan Rogue and a Black Chevrolet pickup. An investigation into the incident showed that the operator of the pickup, 16 year old Hunter Worden of 2109 Stevenson Road in Seneca Falls, started to make a left hand turn off of State Route 318 onto Black Brook Road without yielding to Westbound traffic. As a result the operator of the Nissan, 61 year old Michael Jimenez of 5348 Rice Road in Trumansburg, swerved to miss the pickup truck but was unable to do so causing a near head on collision. In the Nissan with Jimenez at the time of the crash were the front seat passenger, 61 year old Tracey Jimenez and back seat passenger, 17 year old Julia Jimenez. Michael and Julia sustained minor injuries. Tracey Jimenez was transported from the scene to Geneva General Hospital by North Seneca Ambulance and complained of chest pain and other internal complaints. Worden was not injured in the crash. A UTT for Failing to Yield Right of Way was issued as a result of the crash. The pickup truck was removed from the scene by Zimmerman Auto, and the Nissan was removed from the scene by Best Buy Auto.
