The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on 1/16/21 at 1:56 pm, Deputies responded to Dunham Road in the Town of Waterloo for a tree logging accident. Deputies state Todd E. Washburn, age 52, of Waterloo, was severely injured after a large tree fell on top of him pinning him to the ground. Several individuals were able to move Washburn out from under the tree and call for emergency services. Washburn was rendered immediate care by North Seneca Ambulance and transported to a helicopter landing zone. Mercy Flight transported Washburn to Strong Memorial Hospital and he is reportedly in stable condition with a severe leg and pelvis injury. Investigators responded to the scene to further process the accident. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the NYSP, North Seneca Ambulance, Mercy Flight, Junius Fire Department, Border City Fire Department and Waterloo Fire Department.
