The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 7/12/2022 at 20:30 hours Deputies responded the report of a house fire at 5048 State Route 96A in the Town of Varick. Upon deputies arrival smoke was visible and the Fire Dept. was on scene. The apparent cause of the fire was an electric air fryer. Varick Fire Department was assisted by Romulus Fire, Fayette Fire, Ovid Fire, Waterloo Fire, Seneca Falls Fire, South Seneca Ambulance, and North Seneca Ambulance. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the residents. The amount of damages are unknown at this time.
