The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 02/23/2022, deputies arrested Melvin G. Bulley D.O.B 03/18/1966, of 5640 State Route 96 Varick NY 14541, for DWI, crossing a hazardous marking, and moving from lane unsafely. The arrest stems from an investigation of a one motor vehicle rollover accident with entrapment in the area of State Route 96, North of White Road in the Town of Varick. The investigation found that Bulley was operating a vehicle found to be bearing NY reg 63939NB in a Southerly direction on State Route 96 in the Town of Varick when Bulley crossed over a hazardous marking exiting the roadway off the Western shoulder before impacting several NYS DOT directional signs, a NYSEG telephone pole, and a Verizon phone box before coming to rest on its driver side. The vehicle sustained heavy damage from the impacts of the crash. Romulus and Varick fire companies worked with North Seneca Ambulance to extricate Bulley from the vehicle. Bulley was flown by Life net to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment for his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
