DWI

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Sunday July 24th, 2022 at around 3:46am, Deputies, while on routine patrol came across a single vehicle crash in the area of 1501 Lodi Point Road in the Town of Lodi, New York. Upon arrival, Deputies found the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, identified as Jack J. Mott, age 21, of Lodi, New York attempting to extricate himself from the drivers side of the vehicle. Upon further investigation it was made known to Deputies that Mott had been driving westbound on Lodi Point Road when his vehicle left the roadway multiple times striking a mailbox and guardrail before coming to rest in a ditch causing significant damage to the vehicle. South Seneca Ambulance responded for a check over of Mott. Mott was showing signs of intoxication and Deputies concluded that alcohol was the contributing factor in the cause of the crash. Mott was put through Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which he ultimately failed and was subsequently placed under arrest for DWI. Mott was transported by Deputies to the Seneca County Correctional facility where he was processed and released with Appearance Tickets. Charges include DWI, Aggravated DWI (BAC of .18 or higher), Failure To Keep Right, and Moved From Lane Unsafely. Mott is due back in the Town of Lodi Court at a later date in August, 2022 to answer all charges.
