The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on August 15, 2022 at around 7:50 p.m., Deputies responded to a residence on Yost Road in the Town of Fayette and took 41 year old Richard D. Bruce into custody on a warrant for the charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, Aggravated Family Offense, Menacing in the 2nd Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment in the 2nd Degree, Harassment in the 2nd Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree. The charges stemmed from a two-day long physical domestic incident between Bruce and and a Town of Fayette resident that began on August 14, 2022. As a result of the domestic incident, the victim sustained multiple injuries. Bruce was transported to the Seneca County Jail where he was handed over for processing and arraignment at the Seneca County CAP Court on August 16, 2022. Bruce was also charged with Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree and Aggravated Family Offense the following day while he was inside the Seneca County Correctional Facility. Those charges were filed against Bruce when he attempted to contact the victim in the domestic incident from the two days prior after being served with an Order of Protection at his arraignment ordering him to stay away from the victim and refrain from attempting any contact with the victim.
