Church Leadership Safety Meeting

On April 25, 2024, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office hosted a meeting with the church leadership across Seneca County. This meeting was designed to improve the safety and security at houses of worship. The event was very well attended and was a collaboration of ideas between the various churches represented and law enforcement. Since January, Sheriff’s Deputies have increased patrols during services at places of worship and will continue to be visible during those times.

Sheriff Thompson remarked, “This meeting was a success and we look forward to continuing this into the future. I want to thank Deputy Jacobsen and Lieutenant Steuer for their expertise. I also want to thank the church leaders for taking the time to attend. We will continue to strive to make this community safer and we hope that this event contributes to that. We know that these are tough conversations, but we must be proactive in preventing tragedies.”
