MVA/ AUO 3rd

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 03/14/19 at around 04:30 am, Deputies responded to St. Rt. 96 in the T/Varick for the report of a one car motor vehicle accident. It is reported that Ellen Parshall, 57, of 5339 St Rt 96, was travelling northbound on St Rt 96 when she swerved to avoid striking an animal in the roadway. This action caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn into the ditch. Parshall was treated by South Seneca Ambulance for minor injuries. Parshall was issued a UTT  for Aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd  for Driving with a Revoked License and is scheduled to appear in Varick Town Court at a later date to answer charges. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.  Also assisting with accident was Romulus Fire Department and Varick Fire Department.

Domestic Incident Crim Contempt 1st , Agg Family offense

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on March 14, 2018 at 12:11 AM, Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Vance A. Dixon, 31, of 4739 East Seneca Road in the Town of Covert. Dixon was charged with Felony Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree, Felony Aggravated Family Offense, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Menacing in the 2nd  Degree and Harassment in the 2nd Degree. The arrest stems from an altercation from a domestic dispute where it is alleged that Dixon displayed weapons while making threats towards a female victim while a 7 year old child was present and an Order of Protection was already in place. Dixon was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility where he was arraigned in the CAP court and Committed on $5000 cash / $10,000 bail bond and is to appear in Covert Town Court at a later date.

Criminal Nuisance Arrest

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on March 13th 2019, around 10:00am, the Narcotics Unit arrested Jedediah J. Shaw, age 37, of 1875 Auburn Road, Seneca Falls, New York, on a charge of Criminal Nuisance in the Second Degree. The arrest stems from a search warrant that was executed at 25 Peterman Road, Apartment B2, on February 6th 2019 in the Town of Seneca Falls where numerous items related to drug sales were seized. As a result of the ongoing investigation, it is alleged that Shaw knowingly maintained the apartment and allowed drug activity to take place. Shaw was taken into custody and was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility. Shaw will be arraigned at CAP Court at 7:00pm.

Arrest

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on March 11, 2019 at 4:00 AM, Deputies arrested Andy Cruz-Delgado, 38, of 79 Copeland Street, Rochester NY, in the Town of Ovid, for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd degree and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. It is alleged that Cruz-Delgado was in Possession of Marihuana following a routine traffic stop for Speeding. Cruz-Delgado was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in the Town of Ovid Court on April 23, 2019 to answer the charges.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MONTH: 

February 6th , 2019: NARCO conducted a search warrant at a Town of Seneca Falls residence that resulted in suspects being charged for allegedly possessing and selling “crack” cocaine in Seneca County. 

February 13th, 2019: A lengthy child sex abuse case in the Town of Tyre culminated with the arrest of a subject on several major felonies for allegedly molesting a child under 11 years old.

February 13th, 2019: NARCO charged a suspect for allegedly selling and possessing heroin in Waterloo.

February 16th, 2019: Seneca County’s Social Host Law was utilized at an underage drinking party in the Town of Waterloo.

February 27th, 2019: An investigation into Elder Abuse in the Town of Varick resulted in a subject being charged with felony assault and maltreatment of a vulnerable adult.

Aggravated DWI Property Damage Accident

The Seneca County Sheriff’s office reports that on March 2nd, 2019, at approx. 10:30pm, Deputies arrested Teagan A Jahna, 24, of 32 East River Street, apt #4, Waterloo, New York. Jahna was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Moving from Lane Unsafely, and Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test. The arrest stems from an investigation into a one car property damage accident where Jahna was found to be traveling southbound on Whiskey Hill Rd and left the east shoulder of the roadway striking two trees and a mailbox. Jahna had attempted to flee the scene and was located a short distance from the accident. Jahna suffered no injuries, but the vehicle suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene. Jahna was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility and held awaiting arraignment.

Arrest

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 03/01/19 at approx. 5:08pm, Deputies arrested Cody Colegrove, 25, of Binghamton, New York, and Morgan Hyde, 17, of Vestal, New York. The arrests stem from a traffic stop where Deputies stopped the vehicle that Colegrove was operating for expired inspection. Upon investigation, Deputies discovered that Colegrove’s driver’s license was suspended. Deputies also discovered the passenger, Hyde, to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. Colegrove was released on uniform traffic tickets for Uninspected Motor Vehicle and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree. Hyde was released with an appearance ticket for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Both parties are to appear in the Romulus Town Court on April 12, 2019 at 10:00am to answer the charges.

Welfare Fraud Arrest

On March 1, 2019, at about 2:15pm, Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Katrina M. Szul, age 47, of 6847 Wells Hollow Road, Romulus, New York, following a welfare fraud investigation. Szul was charged with Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, Welfare Fraud in the Fifth Degree, and Misuse of Food Stamps. It is alleged that Szul failed to disclose household income while receiving monetary benefits from Seneca County. Szul was released on an appearance ticket and is to appear in the Waterloo Village Court on March 20, 2019 at 5pm.

Endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person / Assault 3rd

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 02/27/2019 at approximately 3:52pm Deputies arrested William R. Nicklin 42 of 5432 East Lake Road Romulus for Assault 3rd (A Misdemeanor) and Endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person, or an incompetent or physically disabled person 2nd (E Felony). The arrest stems from a welfare check that was called in by a third party. Upon investigation , Sheriff’s Deputies found that William R. Nicklin struck a 71 year old female causing physical injury. Nicklin was arraigned at CAP court and released. Nicklin is to appear at Varick town court at a later date.

Narcotics Arrest

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on February 13th 2019, Investigators from the Narcotics Unit arrested Robert J. Davis age 29, of 364 Cayuga Drive Waterloo N.Y. for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree ( Class B Felony), and for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree ( Class B Felony). It is alleged that Davis sold heroin in the Town of Waterloo. Davis was arraigned at CAP Court and was released on his own recognizance. Davis will have to reappear at the Waterloo Town Court at a later date. The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit was assisted by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and Geneva Police Department.
