The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 03/23/21, Deputies arrested Brelynn B. Vorrasi, age 24, of 4 Gates Ave Geneva, NY, on a Bench Warrant. The warrant was issued by Lodi Town Court for violating the terms and conditions of her probation. Vorrasi was located in Chemung County and turned over to Seneca County Deputies . Vorrasi was arraigned in CAP court and committed to the Seneca County jail to appear in Lodi court at a later date.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on March 23rd 2021 Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Scott Meldrum age 33 of Rt 96 Romulus on charges of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree and harassment in the second degree. Deputies report the charges stem from an incident where Meldrum had broken a window and made threats while at a Romulus residence . Meldrum was taken into custody and was arraigned at CAP court and released to appear in Romulus Court at a later date
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on March 21, 2021 at about 9 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an Order of Protection Violation Complaint at 1884 State Route 318 Pine View Circle, in the Town of Tyre. Deputies report that Mitchell Sikes 57 of Main St Waterloo, was in Violation of a Class A Order of Protection . Deputies located Sikes at the residence of the protected party. During the investigation Deputies found Sikes to be in possession of bags of Crack Cocaine when Deputies made contact with him. Deputies placed Sikes into custody for Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree . Sikes was brought to the Seneca County Correctional Facility and arraigned at CAP Court and released to appear in Tyre Town Court at a later date.
The Seneca County Sheriffs Office reports that on 03-14-2021 Deputies arrested Steven D. Downey, 32 , of Rt 89 Interlaken New York for Trespass and Criminal Mischief 4th. It’s alleged that Downey remaining unlawfully on a neighbors property and intentionally damaged property . Downey was issued an Appearance Ticket and is to appear in the Town of Ovid Court at a later date to answer to the charges.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on February 22, 2021 at 9:00 PM, Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Glenda L. Pelham, 43, of 118 Pulteney Street, Geneva, NY 14456 on West River Road in the Town of Waterloo. Deputies report that Pelham was traveling East bound on West River Road when she left the shoulder of the roadway and came to rest in a snowbank. The vehicle did not suffer any damage but was towed from the scene. After responding to the scene and upon further investigation, Pelham was taken to Geneva General Hospital where a blood draw was administered. Pelham was initially charged with Driving While Intoxicated, and Crossing Hazardous Markings. On March 15 Deputies charged Pelham with Driving with a BAC of .18% or more, Pelham was released on appearance tickets and is to return to Waterloo town court on April 14, 2021 at 5:00 PM to answer the charges.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on March 14, 2021 at approximately 12:05am, Sheriff’s Deputies while on patrol , discovered a single car motor vehicle accident on State Route 96 in the Town of Ovid. The single occupant, identified as Erin Taylor, age 47, of 2117 Water Street, Ovid was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated after failing a series of standard field sobriety tests. Deputies report Taylor was southbound on Rt 96 when she crossed over the road and went into the ditch on the east side of Rt 96. Taylor was issued traffic citations for failing to keep right, driving while intoxicated, and aggravated driving while intoxicated. Taylor was released on appearance tickets and is to answer to the charges on March 16 in Ovid Town Court.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on March 09, 2021 at about 8:15 pm, Deputies responded to State Route 336 in the Town of Varick for a an Order of Protection Violation Complaint. Deputies report the Suspect, Michael Mclean age 41 of 55 W Bayard St Seneca Falls, was located at the residence of the Order’s protected party , in Violation of a Class A Order of Protection out of the Varick Town Court. Deputies placed Mclean into custody for Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree and he was brought to the Seneca County Correctional Facility and arraigned in CAP court .
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on 2/22/21 at 9:50 AM Deputies responded to 2539 Vineyard Rd in Romulus for a structure fire. The owners of the farm, Stephen and Fannie Hertzler, called 911 reporting a work shop was fully engulfed in flames and that a barn with 11,000 chickens was next to the blaze. Romulus Fire Department arrived and were assisted on scene by Ovid Fire Department, Varick Fire Department, Fayette Fire Department, Interlaken Fire Department, Waterloo Fire Department, Border City Fire and South Seneca Ambulance and the Seneca County 911 center. The work shop, along with several dogs and cows and equipment, was unsalvageable and a total loss of over $150,000. The barn with the 11,000 chickens was slightly damaged with no loss of livestock. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Feb 3rd 2021 at around 12:15 am, Deputies arrested Nicholas W Andrews, age 35, of Oxford, NY. Deputies responded to a Fayette residence for the report of a domestic dispute. Deputies report Andrews grabbed and threatened the victim and broke items in the residence during the incident . Andrews was taken into custody without incident and was charged with Criminal Mischief 4th, Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd Degree, Coercion 2nd Degree, and Harassment 2nd. Andrews was arraigned in CAP Court and released to appear in Fayette Town court at a later date.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on January 31, 2021 at about 3pm, Deputies arrested Cassidy J Ward, age 37, of Seneca Falls NY, on an arrest warrant from the Town of Tyre Court . Deputies report Ward was charged with Aggravated family offense , Menacing 2nd , Harassment 2nd and 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child . The charges stem from an incident that occurred on January 22, 2021, in which Ward allegedly entered a residence in the Town of Tyre and aggressively confronted the victim in front of her children, including threatening her life with a firearm. Ward left the residence and an Arrest Warrant was obtained after he was unable to be located . On Jan 31 st, members of the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Seneca Falls Police Department, New York State Parole, and the U.S. Marshalls located Ward in a residence in the Town of Tyre and took him into custody without incident. Ward was arraigned at 7pm the same day at the Seneca County CAP Court, and held on no bail along with a parole detainer.
