PI Accident Town of Romulus

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports on 03/21/2024 at around 0456, Sheriff’s Deputies along with Varick Fire Department and South Seneca Ambulance were dispatched to the area of SR 96A in the Town of Romulus for the reported single vehicle PIMVA.

Deputies arrived on scene and located the driver, Cory J Steen, age 33, of Ovid NY to be suffering from a minor head injury. Through subsequent investigation it was determined Steen lost control due to the snowy conditions and hit a drainage culvert causing his vehicle to roll multiple times. Steen was transported to Geneva General Hospital to be checked over and was not cited for the incident. Ovid Fire Department also responded to assist.

Chimney Fire in the Town of Romulus

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that on March 19th, 2024, at approximately 3:03PM, Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a structure fire on 6950 State Route 96A in the Town of Romulus.

The complaint stemmed from the homeowners, Timothy Warne, and Theresa Warne, who reported that there was a working fire in the chimney of their residence. Upon Law Enforcement and Fire Departments arrival, it was quickly determined that there was a working fire in the chimney of the residence. Fire departments on scene began working diligently to put out the fire. Ovid FD had command of the scene. After approximately 20 minutes, Fire Crews were able to knock down the fire. It was determined by the Ovid Fire Chief that the cause of the fire was due to the buildup of creosote in the chimney walls. The total loss is estimated to be about $20,000. The homeowners did have insurance on the home.

Ovid Fire Department was assisted by Romulus, Lodi, and Interlaken Fire Departments.

DWI arrest in the town of Waterloo

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that on March 20th at approximately 1:18 AM Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Noah Palumbo, age 24, of 5760 LAKE HILL DR Romulus, NY 14541 in the Town of Waterloo for Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd.

The arrest stems from a traffic stop where it is alleged that Palumbo was operating a vehicle with a flat tire. After a police investigation it was found that Palumbo was driving while intoxicated and his license was previously suspended.

Palumbo was turned over to corrections staff to await arraignment.

Domestic Incident Arrest

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that on 3/17/2024 at about 1:30PM, Deputies arrested Mark S. Belliveau, age 37, of 2170 E Seneca Street Ovid, NY in the Town of Ovid for Criminal Mischief 4th, Criminal Possession of a weapon 3rd, and Criminal Contempt 2nd.

The arrest stems from the report of Domestic incident in the Town of Ovid. It is alleged that Belliveau was unlawfully at a residence with the victim while a class A Order of Protection was in place. It is also alleged that Belliveau damaged a door to the residence and possessed an illegal weapon. Belliveau was brought to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await a CAP Court arraignment.

Warrant Arrest

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that on Saturday March 10, 2024, at about 6:00pm, Deputies arrested David Hennigan, age 42, of Waterloo, NY on a Bench Warrant.

The Warrant was issued for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the 3rd Degree.

Hennigan was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.

Arrest Warrant

The Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that on 3/09/2024 at approximately 9:30AM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Cori R. Spears, age 44, of 25 Peterman Road apartment D3 in Seneca Falls on an arrest warrant.

The arrest stems from a traffic stop that occurred in the Village of Waterloo, where Spears was a passenger. The arrest warrant was for 4 counts of abandonment of an animal and 4 counts of failure to provide proper sustenance for an animal. Spears was then transported to the Seneca County jail where she waited for CAP court.

The Sheriff’s office was assisted by NYSP and Waterloo PD during the traffic stop.

Warrant Arrest

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that on Saturday March 9, 2024, at about 5:45pm, Deputies arrested Nicole M Fuller, age 27, of Seneca Falls, NY on a Bench Warrant.

The Warrant was issued for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Misuse of Food Stamps, 3 counts of Filing False Instruments in the 1st Degree, and Welfare Fraud in the 5th Degree.

Fuller was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.

Mobile Home Fire in the Town of Romulus

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that on March 3rd, 2024, at approximately 1:50AM, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 6613 Baptist Church Road in the Town of Romulus for a mobile home fire.

Sheriff’s Deputies report the fire was located in the ceiling of the residence. The fire was quickly extinguished by the Ovid, Lodi, Interlaken, and Romulus Fire Departments. The residence sustained major smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire was ruled as an electrical issue in the ceiling of the residence. No injuries were reported.

South Seneca Ambulance and Seneca County Code Enforcement also assisted on scene.
