The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on 1/23/20 at about 2pm Deputies responded to a 3 car MVA that occurred on Rt 318 in the Town of Junius. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Marianne White 70 of 3 Zoar St Auburn NY was westbound on Rt 318 when she was sideswiped by an eastbound vehicle driven by Kimberly Tompkins 59 of Maryland Road Phelps NY. Whites vehicle then swerved into the eastbound lane and collided with a 3rd vehicle driven by Angelo Mascioli 45 of Newark NY. Whites and Mascioli’s vehicles came to rest on the eastbound shoulder while Tompkins’ vehicle came to rest blocking the westbound lane of Rt 318. Deputies were assisted by Junius and Magee fire , which extricated White and her passenger, Paul Crapo 72 also of Zoar St Auburn. Deputies report that White sustained chest injuries and was transported by North Seneca Ambulance to Geneva General Hospital where she died as a result of her injuries. Crapo was also transported to Geneva General by South Seneca Ambulance where he was treated for rib and chest injuries . Mascioli was transported by Mercy flight to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse where he is being treated for leg and hip injuries. All the vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. Tompkins was uninjured and was issued tickets for failing to keep right and having an unregistered vehicle, and will appear in Junius Town Court at a later date.
