2 car PIMVA / DWI arrest Town of Tyre

 The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on June 14th, 2020 at approx. 7 AM  Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the intersection of Route 5 and Route 89 in the Town of Tyre  ,for a two car Personal Injury accident .   A vehicle travelling westbound on Route 5 driven by Nina Kolczynski age 47 of Port Byron , was struck from behind by a second westbound vehicle.  Upon further investigation it was found that the second driver ; Shannon M. McKiernan, 25  of Syracuse, was found to be intoxicated. Kolczynski was treated at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance and sought medical attention on her own for a complaint of pain in her ribs , hip and knee.  McKiernan was transport to Geneva General Hospital by North Seneca Ambulance to be checked over.  Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. McKiernan was arrested and issued appearance tickets for speed not reasonable and prudent, following too closely and Driving While Intoxicated , and  is to appear in the Town of Tyre Court on 07-03-2020 at 8am to answer the charges. Deputies were assisted by the Seneca Falls Police Department , the New York State Police, and Magee Fire.
