Welfare Fraud Arrest

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on January 27, 2020 at 9:30 AM, Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Paul W. Bentz, age 51, of 3 Chapel Street, Seneca Falls, New York, on charges of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, a Class E Felony, and Welfare Fraud in the Fifth Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.  The charges stem from an investigation where Bentz allegedly received monetary benefits from Seneca County while grossly under reporting his income from a business.  Bentz was released on appearance tickets and is to appear at the Seneca County Centralized Arraignment Court on February 14, 2020 at 8AM.
