SCSO Sheriff - W. Timothy Luce
Sheriff W. Timothy Luce started his law enforcement career in 1984 when he was hired by Sheriff Kenneth Greer. After being hired he attended the Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy in Canandaigua N.Y. In 1986 he was promoted to the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division where he worked until 1989.
In 1989 Sheriff Luce transferred to the Waterloo Village Police Department. In 1995 Sheriff Luce was promoted to the rank of Sergeant until his retirement in 2009.
In 2009 Sheriff Luce remained as a part-time officer at the Waterloo Police Department at which his primary duties were as Evidence Coordinator. He also was hired back at the Seneca County Sheriff Office by Sheriff Jack Stenberg on a part time basis at which he primarily handled pistol permits and other administration duties.
In November 2015, Sheriff Luce was elected Seneca County Sheriff and took office on January 1, 2016.
