The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on August 28th 2023 around 12:19pm, Seneca County Deputies responded to 3171 Canoga Rd in the Town of Fayette for a structure fire. Multiple Fire departments arrived on scene and quickly extinguished the fire. It was reported one elderly female was inside the residence at the time the fire started. The female occupant was able to get out and call 911, and sustained no injuries. Seneca County Fire Investigation team responded to the residence to determine the cause. The residence sustained damage as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to have started by a unattended outdoor candle.
