Structure Fire

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 01/31/2022 at around 3:00 pm, Deputies responded to 290 Whiskey Hill Rd in the Town of Junius for the report of a structure fire. The homeowner, Marybeth Ennist, and her three children, were able to safely exit their home after noticing smoke coming from their bathroom. Deputies arrived on scene along with the Fire Department and were able to get the fire and smoke conditions under control. The cause of the fire is determined to be caused by towels that caught on fire from a running space heater that had malfunctioned. The SCSO was assisted by the Junius FD, Border City FD, Waterloo FD, Fayette FD and Seneca County Codes.
