Seneca and Cayuga County Sheriffs Collaborate

This year the Seneca and Cayuga County Sheriff’s Offices have partnered to enhance Navigation Patrols on Cayuga Lake. Working together, both agencies have collaborated to share and create patrol schedules that will allow for maximum coverage without duplication of services.

Members of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office are also partnering with the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office to attend upcoming navigation training sponsored by Seneca County.

“Working together, we can provide additional patrol coverage on Cayuga Lake this boating season by avoiding duplication and working to provide patrols during time frames that would not have otherwise been covered. This partnership will not only improve safety for those on the lake, it will be positive from a fiscal standpoint for both agencies as well, as we work to better utilize our resources together.” – Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck

“It is a great pleasure to work with the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office. I believe this collaboration between the two Sheriff’s Offices will create a much safer and pleasurable experience for all who enjoy Cayuga Lake this year.” – Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce
