Press Release - Child Birth



Sheriff Jack Stenberg reports, on 02/06/14 at 0744 hrs Deputy Melinda Marquart responded to 5854 Rt 96 apt 231C Romulus for a medical call.  Upon arrival, Dep. Marquart interviewed Kelly Scherer age 35 who reports severe abdominal pains, upon accessing Scherer it ws found that her pain and discomfort was due to the beginning stages of labor.  Dep. Marquart after acessing the situation found that the unborn child was already in the birth canal beginning to exit.  South Seneca Ambulance personnel arrived, Paramedic Bruce Boatman , and EMT Danielle Burlew began working with Dep. Marquart.  As a result of the responding EMS providers a 4 pound five oz healthy baby boy was born at 0811 HRS.  Scherer and her newborn baby boy Hunter Thomas Pepson were transported by ambulance to Newark Wayne hospital for further Medical Care.  Newborn baby hunter and his mother Kelly Scherer and father Jason Pepson age 28 are all doing well at time of report.
