Press Release - Fatal farm accident

The Seneca County Sheriff's Office reports that on 9/4/13 at approx 4pm Deputies responded to Whiskey Hill Road Waterloo, north of Rt 318 in the Town of Junius for a injured 3 year old male that had fallen from a amish wagon. Sheriff's Deputies discovered that Chris Schumucker Jr age 36 of 1190 Whiskey Hill Road, was driving a horse drawn wagon northbound on Whiskey Hill Rd , pulling a small wagon transporting lambs from one pasture to another. Also riding on the wagon were his sons ; David age 10, Victor age 6 and Lester age 3. Lester jumped off the wagon and apparently attempted to get back on when he was run over by the wheel of the trailer. Deputies and members of the North Seneca Ambulance treated Lester Schumucker at the scene and he was transported by North Seneca Ambulance to Geneva General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Also assisting at the scene were the NYSP and Junius Fire Dept. Deputies report that the investigation is continuing at this time.
