Press Release - Sheriff's Narcotics Unit arrest two for selling heroin
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On June 5, 2012, members of the Seneca County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division arrested David G. Brownell, age 48 and Karrie M. Greenfield-Maslyn, age 32, both of 1235 Route 96, Waterloo, New York on numerous charges following an investigation into the sale of heroin in Seneca County.
Members of the Sheriff's Uniform, Criminal Investigation and Narcotics Divisions, along with members of the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team search warrants on the vehicle Brownell was driving and at their residence. Brownell was found to be in possession of forty-three (43) individually packaged packets of heroin, a Billy Club and a self defense spray.
Brownell was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, all Class B Felonies; Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Class D Felony; and Unlawfully Dealing with a Child, A Misdemeanor. It is alleged that Brownell sold heroin to a person on another occassion.
Greenfield-Maslyn was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, both Class B Felonies; and Unlawfully Dealing with a Child, A Misdemeanor. It is alleged that Greenfield-Maslyn sold heroin to a person on another occassion.
The Unlawfully Dealing with a Child charges resulted from Brownell and Greenfield-Maslyn engaging in drug activity in the presence of children.
Brownell and Greenfield-Maslyn were arraigned in Waterloo Town Court and sent to the Seneca County Correctional Facility without bail. Brownell and Greenfield-Maslyn are scheduled to reappear in Waterloo Town Court on June 7, 2012 at 6:00 PM
