Press Release - Over 45 lbs of unwanted, unused, outdated prescriptions turned in during National Take Back Day
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Seneca County Sheriff Jack S. Stenberg reports that over 45 pounds of unwanted, unused or outdated prescription medication was turned over to Sheriff's Deputies at two locations during National Take Back Day on April 28, 2012. Those prescrption medications were turned directly over to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for destruction. "This is the second year in a row that we have partnered with the DEA to get these prescription medications out of homes where they could easily fall into the wrong hands or be flushed into our treatment facilities. Over 65 pounds of these prescription medications have been properly disposed of since we initiated this program" said Sheriff Stenberg.
