 The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on March 28, 2018 at approximately 6:15pm Deputies responded to a two car PIMVA on Parish Rd in the Town of Ovid. Upon arrival Deputies found that Kenneth Sterling, age 62, of Milport NY was traveling east bound in his GMC pickup truck and crossed into the west bound lane, causing a near head on collision with a Chevrolet SUV, driven by Karly Lavarnway, age 31 of 7556 Southtown Building Rd in the Town of Ovid NY. Along with Karly in the SUV were her two daughters, Rosalee age 2 and Cassidy age 5. Ovid and Interlaken Fire Departments were on scene  and assisted with extricating the occupants of the vehicles.  South Seneca Ambulance treated Karly for overall pain at the scene and then transported her to Cayuga Medical Center.  Cassidy was treated for neck pain at the scene and both girls were transported to CMC by Trumansburg Ambulance further check overs. Sterling was uninjured in the crash.  Deputies report that SUV was turned onto its side in the east bound ditch and both vehicles suffered extensive damage and were towed from the scene. Deputies issued Sterling  a traffic ticket for failure to keep right , and he is to appear in the Town of Ovid at a later date to answer the charge.
