Press Release - Welfare Fraud Arrests

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on March 23, 2018, at about 10:30am, Sheriff’s Investigators arrested three subjects following a welfare fraud investigation.   

 

The following were charged: 

 

Michael P. Burleson, age 37 of 10 Belshaw Avenue, Eatontown, New Jersey, was charged with Welfare Fraud in the Fourth Degree, a Class E Felony, Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree Degree, a Class E Felony, and Misuse of Food Stamps, a Class A Misdemeanor.

 

Richard C. Burleson, age 64, of 16 Inslee Street, Waterloo, New York, was charged with Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

 

Sandra T. Burleson, age 59, of 16 Inslee Street, Waterloo, New York, was charged with Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

 

It is alleged that Michael Burleson unlawfully received monetary benefits from Seneca County while actually residing in the State of New Jersey.  It is further alleged that Richard and Sandra Burleson allowed this to occur.

 

All three subjects were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear before the Village of Waterloo Court on April 4, 2018 at 5:00PM.
