Press Release - Narcotics Arrest

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports, on February 26th, 2018 at approximately 2:30PM, members of the Narcotics Unit arrested Brian K. McDermott, age 34, of 3028 Owasco Drive, Waterloo, NY following an investigation in to the possessing and trafficking of Heroin and Fentanyl within the local community.  The investigation concluded with a traffic stop on Wagner Street in the Town of Waterloo.  At the time of the traffic stop, investigators seized a quantity of Heroin.  McDermott was charged with the following:

 

Three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree,  Class B Felonies

 

Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Class B Felonies

 

One count of Criminal Nuisance in the First Degree, Class E Felony

 

Two counts of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree, Class A Misdemeanors

 

One Count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh degree, Class A Misdemeanor

 

McDermott was arraigned at the Town of Varick Court where he was committed to the custody of the Sheriff in lieu of $2,500 cash, $5,000 secured bond.  He is scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Varick Court on February 28, 2018 at 6:30PM.  Child Protective Services were notified of the incident.  Sheriff’s Investigators were assisted by members of the Uniformed Road Patrol.
