Press Release - Menacing a Police or Peace Officer



The Seneca County Sheriff's Office report the arrest of Anthony J. Battisti, age 33, of 5854 Route 96 Apt. 243 D Romulus, NY. On February 12th 2018 at 11:16 pm Deputies responded to Battisti's residence after a report was made to Seneca County 911 from a third party who stated that Battisti had threatened to physically harm them and that he had made threats about harming himself. Upon arrival at the residence, Sheriff's Deputies made contact with Anthony Battisti at the front of the residence. During this contact, Battisti refused to comply with law enforcement's orders and went back into his residence, then exited the front of the residence displaying a baseball bat and both physically and verbally threatened the officer's at the scene. Battisti continued to refuse to comply with the orders of law enforcement at which time a Taser was deployed by Deputies ,and Battisti was taken into custody .  Deputies report  Anthony Battisti was charged with four counts of Menacing a Police or Peace Officer and was arraigned in the Town of Ovid Court and was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail or $10,000.00 secured bond. He is scheduled to return to the court on February 15th 2018 for further proceedings.
