Press Release - Narcotics Arrest

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On February 6, 2018 at about 4:30pm, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested Mark P. Pontius, age 54, and Kristie L. Pontius (Kristie L. MacGill), age 42, both of 66 Stark Street, Waterloo, New York, following an investigation into the possession and trafficking of Fentanyl in the local community.  The investigation concluded with a traffic stop on Route 96 in the Town of Waterloo where they were both taken into custody.  At the time of the traffic stop, Sheriff’s Investigators located and seized multiple baggies of suspected Fentanyl.

 

It is further alleged that Kristie L. Pontius has been selling Fentanyl from her residence while two children reside in the home. 

 

Mark P. Pontius was charged with the following:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B Felony

Criminal Nuisance in the First Degree, a Class E Felony

Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree (two counts), Class A Misdemeanors

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Second Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor

 

Kristie L. Pontius was charged with the following:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (two counts), Class B Felonies

Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B Felony

Criminal Nuisance in the First Degree, a Class E Felony

Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree (two counts), Class A Misdemeanors

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Second Degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor

 

Kristie L. Pontius was also charged with one count of Prostitution, a Class B Misdemeanor, stemming from a separate incident where she allegedly engaged in a sexual act in exchange for money.

 

Both subjects were arraigned in the Tyre Town Court and were both remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail/$10,000 secured bond.  Both subjects are to reappear in the Tyre Town Court on February 12, 2018 at 11am. 

 

Sheriff’s Investigators were assisted by members of the Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Division, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit (K-9 “Aken”), Seneca County Probation Department, and Seneca County Child Protective Services.
