Press Release - Structure Fire



     Seneca Co. Sheriff Tim Luce reports that on 1/10/18 at 2:42PM Deputies and Investigators reponded to 1229 Birdsey Rd in the Town of Junius for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival Deputies found the cobblestone home fully engulfed.

     The following fire departments and agencies responded to the scene to battle the blaze:

Junius Volunteer Fire Department who was in charge at the scene as well as Magee VFD,Waterloo VFD, Fayette VFD, Border City VFD, Canoga VFD, Varick VFD, Romulus VFD, Geneva City Fire Dept., Oaks Corners VFD, Phelps VFD, North Side VFD, Clyde VFD, Savannah VFD, North Seneca Ambulance, Seneca County Co-Ordinators and the New York State Police. Seneca Falls VFD and Life Net were on stanby while crews battled the blaze. Crews remained on scene until approximately 8pm.

     Deputies said that the residence is owned by Doris and Walter Wolf (both age 75 ). Deputies report that the residence was insured and was a total loss. The Junius Fire Chief has listed the the cause of the fire as undetermined at this time.
