Press Release - PD accident/ leaving scene



Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 12/22/17 at approx. 1755 hrs Deputies responded to the area of River Rd and 96A for reports of a vehicle into a telephone pole with wires down blocking the road. Upon arrival Deputies were informed by witnesses that the subject of the vehicle had fled the scene into nearby woods. Deputies were assisted by the NYSP and Waterloo Police department in searching the area. The Sheriff’s Office K9 unit also assisted in the search , but were unable to locate the subject. While on the scene Deputies discovered that the driver of the vehicle was Don S Trout, age 33, of  1130 Rt 96 Waterloo. Trout was later located by a family member and brought to a nearby hospital to be checked over. Trout was issued  Traffic Tickets for : leaving the scene of a property damage accident, unreasonable speed, moved from lane unsafely, and drove across hazardous markings . Trout is to appear to the Town of Fayette court on 02/07/18 at 1900hrs to answer to the charges.
