The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on September 24, 2017 at approximately 1:30pm Sheriff Deputies responded to the intersection of State Route 414 and Rhodes Rd in the Town of Lodi for a multi vehicle personal injury accident.  Adam D Smith, age 29 of Morris PA, was operating a 2005 Harley Davidson Motorcycle northbound on State Route 414 when he struck the rear of a 2014 Dodge van truck, being operated by Joseph N Seguin, age 25 of Keuka Park NY, that was stopped in traffic waiting to make a left turn onto Rhodes Rd.  Smith was ejected from his Harley Davidson and both went across the roadway into the southbound lane.  Smith sustained injuries and was checked over at the scene by South Seneca Ambulance and was subsequently transferred to Mercy Flight and transported to Upstate Medical Center.  At the time of the accident there was a large motorcycle run that was travelling southbound on Route 414.  Two motorcycles that were travelling in the run struck the Harley Davidson as it entered their lane of travel.  The first motorcycle was a 2014 Kawasaki operated by Christian L Fulkerson, age 40 of Weedsport NY.  He and his passenger Lisa E Fulkerson, age 47 of the same address, were ejected from the motorcycle, and both sustained injuries.  Christian was transported to Upstate Medical by South Seneca Ambulance.  Lisa was checked over at the scene by South Seneca ambulance and was subsequently transferred to LifeNet and transported to Upstate Medical Center.  The second motorcycle was a 2013 Yamaha being operated by Mark A Fulkerson, age 57 of Ovid NY.  He was also ejected from his motorcycle, but was not injured.  The three motorcycles were not drivable and were towed from the scene.  Also assisting at the scene was the New York State Police, Lodi and Interlaken fire Departments, and Schuyler County Ambulance.  Deputies report Adam Smith was issued a ticket for following too close and he will appear in the Town of Lodi Court at a later date.
