The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on September  18th at 0951am, Sheriff’s Deputies were called to North Main street  ( Rt 96a /414) in the Village of Ovid for a personal injury vehicle crash involving an suv that struck a motorcycle . Following further investigation at the scene, Sheriff’s Deputies determined that Sharon M. Shaw, age 67 of 2276 County Road 139 in Ovid was driving southbound in her SUV, when she turned into path of a northbound motorcycle, striking the motorcycle head on. The operator of the Motorcycle, 55 year old  Carol A  Artico of  Quebec Canada was ejected from the motorcycle, landing on the pavement.  She was treated at the scene by South Seneca Ambulance and then  transported by LifeNet air ambulance  to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse , where she is being trerated for a pelvis and shoulder injuriry . Deputies report that they Charged Shaw with Driving While Ability Impaired by drugs as well as failure to keep right.  Deputies report that they were assisted at the scene by Ovid Lodi and Interlaken Fire.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene . Shaw is to appear in the Town of Ovid Court on the 10th of October at 10:00am to answer the charges.
