Total Summons/Complaints/Services: 70

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MONTH:

 

03/03/2017:  Two persons were arrested for Welfare Fraud on 2 felony charges.

 

03/12/2017: Deputies responded to a house fire in the Town of Varick. The home was a total loss the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

 

03/13/2017: Investigations charged two persons in a major Child Sexual Abuse case. Allegations include Predatory Sexual Abuse and Rape of children ages 3 and 6. The case is continuing…

 

03/14/2017: A heavy winter storm caused travel problems throughout Seneca County.

 

03/17/2017: An alert Corrections Officer caught an inmate trying to smuggle a narcotic drug into the jail.

 

03/27 through 03/31/2017: The New York State Commission of Corrections did an onsite evaluation and assessment of the jail. We were commended for the mental health programs in place for inmates as well as the general operation of the facility.
