The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on February 17th at about 2:50 pm they responded to a tractor trailer on its side in the area of St Rt 96 and County Road 130. Deputies report that when they arrived they observed a Tractor trailer in the East ditch on its side. When the tractor trailer rolled onto its side it struck a telephone pole and broke it in half. There were no injuries reported in the incident. The Driver, Paul Pietrzykowski, age 43 of Warsaw, NY stated that he was driving North Bound on St Rt 96 when he pulled over to let a few cars pass. As he did so his tires dropped off of the pavement and into the ditch. The Tractor was hauling Liquid propane and due to this the Rt 96 was shut down for about 5 hours. During this incident the Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Romulus, Ovid, Interlaken, Varick, Lodi and Fayette Fire Departments as well as South Seneca Ambulance and the New York State Police.
