Press Release - Narcotics Search Warrant
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On February 7, 2017, at about 12:00PM, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 8455 North Maple Street in the Village of Lodi following an investigation into allegations of the sale and distribution of heroin from the residence. As a result of the search warrant execution, Sheriff’s Investigators seized a quantity of heroin, packaging material commonly used in the packaging of illicit drugs, and a quantity of United States currency.
The Narcotics Unit charged Michelle L. Travers, age 30, of 8455 North Maple Street, Lodi, New York, with (1) count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B Felony, (1) count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, (5) counts of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree, Class A Misdemeanors, and (5) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Class A Misdemeanors. Chad A. Cornish, age 36, of the same address, was also charged with (5) counts of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree, Class A Misdemeanors and (5) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Class A Misdemeanors.
It is alleged that Travers and Cornish allowed five school-aged children to reside in the residence where heroin was being used and sold. The children were also subjected to deplorable living conditions. Members of the Seneca County Child Protective Services were on scene and are currently working with family members to take custody of the children. The New York State Police also assisted in the investigation.
Cornish was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in the Lodi Town Court at a later date. Travers was arraigned at the Town of Fayette Court where she was committed to the custody of the Sheriff in lieu of $5,000/$10,000 bail. She is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Fayette Court on February 13, 2017 at 11:00AM.
