Press Release - Welfare Fraud Arrest
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On December 27, 2016, at about 2:25pm, Seneca County Sheriff's Investigators arrested Amanda L. Cooley, age 35, of 2133 Routes 5 & 20, Apartment 21F, Seneca Falls, New York, on several charges related to welfare fraud. Cooley was charged with:
Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony
Welfare Fraud in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony
Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, a Class E Felony
Misuse of Food Stamps, a Class A Misdemeanor
It is alleged that Cooley failed to report income to Seneca County and falsely received over five-thousand dollars in public benefits. Cooley was arraigned in the Waterloo Town Court and released on her own recognizance. Cooley is to reappear in the Waterloo Village Court on January 4, 2017 at 5pm.
