FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Seneca County Sheriffs Office reports, on December 20th, 2016 at approximately 8:08 am, Sheriffs Deputies responded to State Route 96 in the Town of Covert for the one car rollover accident.

Sheriffs Deputies report that a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am operated by Sierra Coney, age 18 of 2166 East Seneca Street, Ovid NY, was traveling south on State Route 96, when the vehicle veered off the west shoulder of the roadway. Coney attempted to gain control of the vehicle when it spun across the roadway, striking the east side ditch, where the vehicle then rolled over onto its roof in a field.

Coney and her passenger, Adam C. Miller, age 22 of Ovid, were treated at the scene by Trumansburg Ambulance, and released. Sheriffs Deputies state that sun glare was a factor in the cause of the accident. No tickets were issued. Sheriffs Deputies were assisted on scene by the Interlaken Fire Department.
