Press Release - Personal injury auto accident

02-05-2012 1010am- Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a personal injury auto accident on State Route 96 in the Town of Varick. A vehicle driven north bound on State Route 96 by 19 year old Heather M. Valder of 4 East Elisha Street Waterloo went off the roadway and struck a ditch. The vehicle rolled over numerous times before coming to rest in a field. Valder was trapped in the vehicle for about 30 minutes and had to be extricated by Firefights from the Romulus Vol. Fire Department. Valder was treated at the scene by South Seneca Ambulance. Valder was then flown to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Valder was listed as in guarded condition in the intensive care unit. Assisting South Seneca Ambulance was members from North Seneca Ambulance. Sheriff’s Deputies were on the scene investigating the accident for about 3 hours. Sheriff's Deputies were assisted at the scene by New York State Park Police and State Police from Romulus. The investigation is continuing.
