Press Release - Welfare fraud

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Seneca County Sheriff W. Timothy Luce reports that Sheriff's Investigators arrested two suspects for charges relating to welfare fraud. Corey M. Hopkins, age 30, of 27 White Street Seneca Falls, NY was charged on May 27th 2016 at the Waterloo Village court with Welfare Fraud 4th, Grand larceny 4th and Misuse of food stamps, all three are class E felonies.

Amanda R. Godwin, age 33, of 5854 ST RT 96 APT 241C Romulus, NY was charged on May 27th 2016 at the Waterloo Village court with Welfare Fraud 4th, Grand larceny 4th and Misuse of food stamps, all three are class E felonies. 

Both Suspects were arraigned in the Village of Waterloo court and were released on there own recognizance to appear at a later date.  Sheriff Luce along with the Seneca County Welfare fraud unit and the Seneca County Investigators continue to rigorously investigate welfare fraud in Seneca County.
