CR#

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On April 1, 2016, at about 6:33pm, the Seneca County 911 Center received a report of a missing vulnerable adult in the Town of Seneca Falls.  The 911 Center immediately dispatched the Seneca Falls Police Department who responded to the scene and initiated a search for the subject.  Initial efforts to locate the missing adult were unsuccessful.  The missing adult is currently enrolled in the Project Lifesaver program and members of the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene with specialized equipment in an effort to track the subject.  Within thirty minutes of arriving on scene, Sheriff’s Deputies located the missing adult using the Project Lifesaver tracking equipment, in a wooded area, adjacent to Mynderse Academy.  The missing adult was uninjured but was checked over by North Seneca Ambulance.

Project Lifesaver is a community service provided to all County residents free of charge. The program is managed by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.  Sheriff Luce stated If you have a vulnerable loved one that is prone to wandering—child or adult, we can help with this program. Anyone who would like to participate or receive further information can contact the Sheriff’s Office at (315) 220-3403 or website: http://sheriff.co.seneca.ny.us/
