Press Release - Traffic Stop/Drug Arrest

The Seneca County Office reports that on March 21st, 2016, Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested the passenger in the vehicle ; Steven K Mcinnes, Age 51, of 87 Uptown RD Ithaca, on St Rt 318, in the Town of Junius at 3:51am along with the driver - Courtney E Aston, age 37, of 66 Asbury Road, Ithaca. Upon investigation Mcinnes was charged with Possession of hypodermic instruments, a class A misdemeanor. Aston was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree , a misdemeanor and operating a motor vehicle without taillights, a violation.
Deputies report that these arrests stemmed from a traffic stop on St Rt 318 in the Town of Junuis early Monday morning. After Deputies searched the vehicle they found four different controlled substances as well as a quantity of hypodermic needles. Mcinnes was committed to the Seneca County Jail on $500 cash and $1000 bond and Aston was committed on $1000 cash and $2000 bond. Both Mcinnes and Aston are to appear before the Town of Junius Court on April 21st at 7:00pm to answer the charges.
