Press Release - Drug arrest/resisting arrest
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
10-14-14 - Seneca County Sheriff's Deputies stopped a vehicle on State Route 96 in the Town of Covert for speeding. Following further investigation, the driver Brandon C. Mcgill, age 21, of 11 Kentucky Ave.,Trumansburg, NY was arrested for Criminal Posession of Marihuana in the 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor, and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, also misdemeanors. It is alledged that Brandon posessed suboxone strips, amphetamine pills and approximately 6 ounces of marihuana. Brandon was arraigned in the Town of Covert Court and released to appear on the 10th of november at 10am.
A passenger, Devin C. Mcgill, age 51, also of Kentucky Ave in Trumansburg was charged with one count of Criminal possession of Marihuana in the 4th degree, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest, all class A misdemeanors. This arrest stems from Devin attempting to physically take back marihuana that Deputies seized from him and resisting Deputies efforts to take him into custody. Devin was arraigned in the Town of Covert Court and remanded to the custody of the sheriff in lieu of $1,000 cash bail $2,000 bond. Devin is also to return in the Town of Covert court on the 10th of November at 10AM. Deputies were assisted on scene by the New York State Police and the Sheriff's Office narcotics unit.
