Press Release - Farm Show Accident
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Seneca County Sheriff's Office is investigating a farm accident that occured in the Town of Seneca Falls at Empire Farm Days at approx 3pm this afternoon (08/07/14). Sheriff Jack Stenberg reports that a vendor was demonstrating a cow hoof trimming machine when the machine was accidently lowered on an eight year old boy who had gotten underneath the machine. The Sheriff's Office is not releasing the name of the child but state that he was flown to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he is listed in critical condition, with head injuries. The investigation into the accident is ongoing. The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police, the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department, the New State Park Police, North Seneca Ambulance, Seneca Falls Fire Dept. and Life Net Medical Helicopter.
